MegEvap
packaged units are industrial grade evaporative coolers offered with a combination
of options that best suits the purchasers application and are supplied as
a ready to install package. The basic cooler is comprised of a wet section,
blower section and a base frame. Construction of all three is 100% 304 stainless
steel and utilizes our "Rigid By Design" construction technique
providing long life, low maintenance, attractive appearance and lowest possible
roof loads. Base frame members are formed from stainless steel and are of
a modified "C" channel design with welded and gusseted joints
providing maximum rigidity while keeping the weight as low as possible.
By building both the base frame and cabinet from stainless steel, we can
join them by electronic welding forming an extremely rigid structure and
eliminating the catalytic corrosion that would occur if the base frame were
built from a dissimilar metal. Our "Rigid By Design" construction technique is also employed in the blower section. The cabinet is built from individually formed panels that when welded together form an " I " section at each joint providing incredible rigidity without the need for a heavy internal framework. The joints are then sealed to insure they are water tight. Quick access to the internal components is made via a removable panel held in place by stainless steel spring latches. The access is large enough to provide easy entry and removal of the blower wheel assembly and can be placed on either or both sides. The openings are framed with formed stainless steel to provide smooth surfaces for a safe entry and exit and for extra strength to prevent compromising the structural integrity of the unit. The floor inside the cabinet is also stainless steel and is supported by crossmembers welded to the base frame to provide a stable corrosion free service platform. The standard blower used in a MegEvap packaged unit is an industrial grade forward curve double width double inlet design with a heavy duty angle iron framework that supports the blower assembly through serviceable pillow block bearings. Belts are tensioned by an in-house built heavy duty motor adjuster with stainless steel components for ease of adjustment and " rock solid " mounting. The blower can be mounted to provide side, bottom or top discharge. The wet section again is 304 stainless for long life and low maintenance. We use 12" thick rigid media made of resin impregnated cellulose for long life and temperature drops of up to 40 degrees F in hot dry climates. Access to the water distribution system is via a removable top mounted cover panel held in place by stainless steel spring latches and fitted with stainless steel lift handles for quick easy removal. Removing the cover panel exposes the evaporative media pad cap that forms the water dispersion tunnel and houses the distribution piping. By removing the supply hose at the center of the pad cap (sliding spring clamp back and pulling hose from fitting) the entire pad cap can be easily lifted off and removed for service. The wet section is fitted with a water flow control valve for proper wetting and a positive bleed-off control valve to help prevent scaling. The wet section is joined to the cabinet by electronic welding with no attaching welds below the water line to prevent stress cracks and leaks in the sump due to mishandling or unlevel mounting. Overflow and sump drain connections are brought through the frame rails at a point specified by the purchaser making plumbing clean and easy. Standard Features
